Are you’re feeling lost, anxious, sad, or like you don’t know who you are anymore? You’ve come to the right place.
Hi, I’m Deborah Kennedy and I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor. Starting counseling might seem intimidating, but I’m here to make it as easy as possible. Through the counseling process, you’ll learn how to break through the barriers that always seem to stop you in your tracks. I can guarantee no matter what you’re feeling, no matter what your fears are, you’re not alone. We’ve all felt broken at one point or another, but please know that I see you as already whole and complete. This is your homecoming, your chance to find the parts of you that may have been lost when the world first hurt you. We’re all in this together.
I was in my early 30’s when I literally woke up one morning and decided I was done feeling miserable. I knew my life wasn’t at all what I had envisioned when I first got married and later had kids. While I loved being a wife and mother, I realized that something was missing and I found myself at a crossroad. I could stay stuck in a life that felt mediocre at best, or I could step into the unknown and see what might be waiting on the other side. This began a sometimes painful process of self-evaluation, healing from past wounds, and finding the courage to face my own demons. The result was an amazing transformation in my personal life, as well as the beginning of my professional career as a counselor. I can say with confidence that every person has the capacity to change their life and step into the authentic person they want to be. I know this because I’ve experienced it personally and I’ve seen it with my clients time and time again.
More about me:
I’m guessing you’re curious about me as a person, not just a counselor. So here goes: When I’m not in the office, I’m usually spending time with my teenage daughters, who have the best sense of humor I’ve ever seen. They’re the epitome of the laugh-till-you-cry emoji. I love photography of all kinds, but I especially love landscapes and architecture photos. My most favorite thing to do is travel. I’ve been to 11 countries so far, although my kids still prefer Disneyland. When you meet me, you’ll see someone real. I’ve always been bad at putting on a different face, so what you see is what you get. While I’m a deep-thinker and highly empathic, I can’t keep humor out of my sessions. I never want anyone to see me as perfect, because I’m not. I’ve been there, done that, and my job is not to fix anyone; it’s just to walk next to you as you do the work by starting your own healing journey.
If you’re on this website, you’re clearly looking for help and answers. You’ve taken the first step already. Keep moving forward and contact me today for a free phone consultation. I look forward to hearing from you!
